Avatars on the website

Avatars, in the side bar of app.nodeworldvr.com, has the same three tabs as in the game: Mine, Catalogue and Favorites. An avatar is uploaded here, on the website; the game equips it, and you change it from both (see Avatars in the game).

Upload an avatar

You upload the .zip that the SDK's Avatar Publisher makes in Unity, up to 160 MB.

  1. In Mine, choose Upload avatar.
  2. In Avatar zip, choose the .zip (Make the zip in Unity, under the field, opens how to make it). In Thumbnail, you can add its picture (JPEG, PNG or WebP). Name (optional) and Description go with it.
  3. Choose Upload avatar. Avatar uploaded confirms it.

The avatar first says Processing, then Ready once NodeWorld has read its files, or Upload failed. A package NodeWorld refuses says This package was refused: and the reason. Works on lists the platforms the avatar has files for; on a device it has none for, the others see the default avatar.

What you can do with your avatar

Choose an avatar to open its page, or its ... button:

  • Equip puts it on, in the game too; Unequip takes it off. Only a Ready avatar can be equipped.
  • Rename changes its name and its description.
  • Publish to catalogue makes it Published: other players find it in the Catalogue and on your profile. Remove from catalogue makes it Private again.
  • Change thumbnail: choose a picture, then frame your avatar in it.
  • Mark 18+ marks it 18+: players who do not show 18+ content see the default avatar in its place. Remove the 18+ mark takes it off; Marked 18+ by NodeWorld means the NodeWorld team marked it, and you cannot take that mark off. See 18+ content.
  • Upload a new version: a new .zip replaces the avatar's files. The avatar keeps its page, whether it is published, and its name unless you type another one. The thumbnail is optional.
  • Delete avatar, after Delete ExampleAvatar?: it can't be undone.

The catalogue and your favorites

Catalogue shows the avatars other players published. Search avatars filters by name, and All, PC, Linux and Quest keep the avatars that have files for that platform. Show more shows the next ones.

On an avatar's page: Equip, the star to keep it in Favorites, and the More button (the three dots) with Report (its picture, see Report). Favorites lists the avatars you starred, here or in the game.
