You make NodeWorld worlds and avatars in Unity 6, with the NodeWorld SDK, on Windows or Linux.
Where to start
| I want to… | Start with |
|---|---|
| make my first world | Install the SDK, open the example world, then make a world and publish it. |
| make my first avatar | Install the SDK, follow avatar setup, then publish and upload it. |
| write my first script | Your first FL# script: a door that opens for everyone. |
| fix an error | Troubleshooting. |
The SDK
- The NodeWorld SDK: its three packages, what you need, its license.
- Install the SDK: the NodeWorld registry, the package for a world or an avatar, the examples, updates.
Worlds
- Make a world: the NW World object, its config, Play mode.
- The example world: a small world with one script per thing a world often needs.
- Building it: lighting, sound, mirrors, televisions and video, seats, portals, Pulse.
- For every player: worlds on Meta Quest, Platform Switch, layers, what a world may hold.
- Publishing it: publish a world.
FL# scripts
- FL# scripts: what FL# is, where to start, and every page by what you want to do.
- The basics: scripts, callbacks and fields, objects, synced objects and values, network events, players, interaction and input, physics, sound, video players, UI, cameras, materials and effects, time and coroutines, player data.
- When it goes wrong: logs of your scripts, limits and performance.
- Further: web, threads, meshes, spawned objects, object batches, drawing by instances, portals made by scripts.
- For the players' safety: what a script cannot block, the FL# sandbox.
Avatars
- Make an avatar: what the model needs, the NWAvatar component, the budgets.
- Avatar setup: the default avatar of the SDK, and your model step by step.
- Publish an avatar: build it and upload it on the website.
Reference
The reference: every type and member of the FL# API and of the SDK, generated from the code.
