Publish an avatar
Build
- Open NodeWorld, Avatar Publisher. The first time, click Create Publisher Settings.
- Set the avatar root (the object with NWAvatar), its display name, the output folder (by default
Builds/Avatarin your project) and the platforms: Windows, Linux, Android (Meta Quest). - Click Validate Avatar. The Validation tab lists the blocking errors, the warnings and the avatar's numbers (triangles, texture memory, bones, renderers, materials, particle systems).
- Fix the errors, then click Build Avatar.
The game draws with Vulkan on every platform: the Avatar Publisher sets each platform of the project to Vulkan before building it (Project Settings, Player, Graphics APIs).
The build makes, in the output folder, one folder per platform and avatar-upload.zip, the file you upload.
Upload
- On app.nodeworldvr.com/avatars, choose Upload avatar.
- Pick
avatar-upload.zip; a thumbnail is optional. - The avatar shows Processing, then Ready. Find it in the game in Avatars, Mine.
To change it later, build again and choose Upload a new version on its page: the new zip replaces its files.
An avatar without Android files cannot be worn on Quest: players on Quest see a default avatar instead.
Sizes
| At most | |
|---|---|

| The avatar's file for one platform, in the zip | 50 MB (Avatar bundle must be 50 MB or smaller) |
