First launch and sign-in

The game signs in with your NodeWorld account. You never type your password in the headset: the game shows a short code, and you type it on a web page, from your phone or your computer.

Create your account

If you have no account yet, create it on app.nodeworldvr.com with your email, or continue with Discord. Your username is the name other players see. You must be at least 13 years old to use NodeWorld.

If you created your account with your email, you can also link your Discord account to it and sign in with Discord.

Link the game to your account

  1. Start the game. The Link your headset card shows: in front of you in VR, in the middle of your screen with keyboard and mouse.
  2. Choose Sign in: a code such as ABCD-1234 appears, with the address where to type it and the time left.
  3. Open the link page and sign in to your NodeWorld account:
    • on a PC, the page opens by itself in your browser, with the code already filled in;
    • on a Quest, open it on your phone or your computer.
  4. Type the code if it is not filled in, and confirm. The card shows Headset linked.

The code is valid for a few minutes. If the card says This code expired. Ask for a new one., choose Sign in again.

The game stays signed in on this device. To sign out, open Settings, then the Account tab, then Sign out.

Arriving in your home world

Once linked, the game finds a server and loads your home world. The loading screen says what it is doing (Finding a server…, Connecting to the server…, Loading the world…). If it stops on an error, it says why, for example This server is full. or This place needs another version of NodeWorld. Update NodeWorld. Every message, with what to do, is in Common problems.

Then open the menu: Y on the left controller in VR, Esc on the keyboard. With keyboard and mouse, the first time, the Keyboard and mouse window shows you the keys first (see Controls).

The language of the game

The game starts in your system's language (English or French). To change it, open Settings, then Display, then Language. The choice is saved on your account and follows you on every device.
