Settings

Open the menu and choose Settings at the bottom of the side bar. The page has eight tabs: Sound, Mic, Controls, Display, Privacy, Notifications, Account and Sites. When you open the menu again, it comes back to the tab you used last.

Sound, mic, controls, the nametags, the VR keyboard layout and Show FPS are kept on your device. The language, the privacy settings, the notifications and Do not disturb are kept on your account, on every device and on the website.

Sound

Three sliders: World, Voices and Menu. They are the same as in the Sound button of the menu's bottom bar. See Sound volumes.

Mic

  • Mute microphone: nobody hears you while it is on. It is the same as the microphone button of the bottom bar.
  • Mic threshold: how loud your voice must be before it is sent. Raise it if the others hear your breathing or the noise around you; lower it if your first words are cut.
  • Microphone (on PC): the microphone the game listens to. Default device follows the one chosen in the system. A microphone plugged in while the game runs shows in the list at the next launch. On Meta Quest, it is always the headset's microphone.

If the system blocks the microphone, the switch stays on and the menu tells you where to allow it: in the headset's settings on Meta Quest, in Windows' privacy settings on Windows.

Controls

  • Snap turn: the right joystick turns you in steps instead of turning smoothly.
  • Keyboard and mouse (on your screen only): every key of the game with keyboard and mouse, with the letters of your keyboard. See Controls.

Display

  • Nametags: Size, Fade with distance and Fade distance of the other players' nametags. See Nametags.
  • Language: English or French. The menu changes at once, and the choice follows your account.
  • VR keyboard (in VR only): the layout of the keyboard that opens in VR, AZERTY or QWERTY. Until you pick one, it follows the language.
  • Show FPS: the game's frames per second under the time and the date, at the top of the menu's side bar: green from 55, yellow from 30, red below.

Privacy

  • Show my current server/world to friends: when it is off, your friends only see that you are online.
  • Profile for friends only: players who are not your friends only see your name and your picture.
  • Show 18+ content: servers, worlds, instances and avatars marked 18+ show, mixed with the others. The first time, Your date of birth asks for it, once. See 18+ content.
  • Blocked players: the players you blocked, each with Unblock. Choose one to open their profile. See Block a player.

Notifications

  • In game: notifications reach you, in the game and on the website (the website calls it In-app notifications).
  • By email: kept on your account. NodeWorld sends no notification by email yet: the website shows it as Soon.
  • Do not disturb: no invites, no invite requests and no notification sounds while it is on. See Do not disturb.

Account

Signed in as shows your name. Sign out signs you out of NodeWorld on this device. Once you declared it, Date of birth shows your date of birth: it can't be changed.

Sites

  • Allowed and denied: the sites you allowed (Always) or refused (Deny) when a world wanted to contact them, each with Remove.
  • Video sites: the sites whose videos play in worlds without asking you, each with Remove, and a field with Add to add one.

Kept on your device. See Sites a world contacts.
