World
The World tab sits on its own at the top of the side bar, under the logo: the square picture of the world you are in, with its name next to it. It shows while you are in a world.
The world
At the top: the world's photo, its name, its server and its description, then:
- who can join this instance (Open, Social, Friends, Invite, Hidden, see Instances and privacy). When you may change it, it is a list: choose another one there;
- how many players are in the instance, the server's region, and 18+ when the server, the world or the instance is for adults;
- New instance: a new instance of this world, as on a server page;
- Favorite: the star turns yellow when the world is in your favorites;
- the
...button: Go to my home world, Set home when the world can be a home world, 18+ instance for the owner of the instance who shows 18+ content, and Report to report the world to the NodeWorld team (see Blocks, kicks and bans).
Players
Players lists everyone in your instance, you first (You), then your friends, the others, and the players you blocked. Each row shows:
- the player's picture and name, a crown for the Instance owner, and Friend for your friends;
- what they play on: Windows or Linux, in VR or with keyboard and mouse, or Quest;
- AFK when they are away (see Away (AFK));
- Muted for you when you muted them;
- on the right, a speaker while they speak, or a crossed-out microphone while theirs is off.
A player you blocked stays in the list, greyed, with Blocked. A player who blocked you does not show: for them, you are not there either.
Choose a row to open the player's card; your own row opens your profile.
A player's card
The card opens over the page, from a row of Players or from the player's nametag. It shows their picture, their name, their status, what they play on, Instance owner and AFK, then:
- Profile: their profile;
- Add friend, Request sent while they have not answered, Accept when they asked you, Friend when you already are;
- Only for you, kept on your device, nobody else sees it:
- Mute: you no longer hear them;
- Volume: their voice, from silent to twice as loud, on top of the Voices volume (see Sound volumes);
- Hide avatar: you see the default avatar instead of theirs, and their nametag stays;
- Block: after Block ExampleUser?, you no longer see nor hear each other, nobody can send the other messages, friend requests or invites, and a friendship ends (see Block a player). On a blocked player's card, Unblock gives it all back at once, except the friendship;
- Report: report the player to the NodeWorld team (see Blocks, kicks and bans);
- Kick, for the owner of the instance: after Kick ExampleUser?, the player is sent home and can come back;
- Ban from the server, for the owner of the server and its co-owners: Ban ExampleUser from the server?, a Reason (optional), then Ban. The player can no longer join this server; the ban can be lifted on the server's page of the website (see Kicks and bans).
Cancel on one of these questions brings the card back. Once the server has done it, the bottom of the menu says ExampleUser was kicked. or ExampleUser is banned from the server.
Other instances and Invite friends
On the right, Other instances lists the other instances of this world on this server, the busiest first, each with Join or Ask for an invite. Invite friends lists your friends who are online and not here, each with Invite (Invited once sent).
Invite requests
When the instance is yours and players ask to come in, Invite requests shows above the players: Approve or Deny each one. Manage on Home opens the page there.
An instance you are not in
Open in NodeWorld on the website, with the game open, shows the instance on the World page without taking you there (see Instances and privacy). The page then shows Friends in this instance instead of the players, the world's Other instances, and Join (or Ask for an invite). When you were invited to that instance, Join accepts the invite. This instance is closed. when it no longer runs.
The World tab always brings back the world you are in.
