Install on Linux

You need Linux x64 with glibc 2.35 or later: Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12 and later. Nothing else to install.

bash
tar -xzf NodeWorld-Server-linux-x64.tar.gz
cd NodeWorld-Server
./NodeWorld.Server

The first start runs the setup assistant: paste the Server ID and the token, keep the public address it finds, and let it open the port on your router and test it.

If your machine has a firewall, open the port in it before the test (ports and firewall):

bash
sudo ufw allow 25252/udp
sudo ufw allow 25252/tcp

To its last question, answer y: the server becomes a systemd service, started with the machine and again after each update; sudo asks for your password (run as a service). Then copy your worlds into Config/Worlds and restart it:

bash
sudo systemctl restart nodeworld-server
journalctl -u nodeworld-server -f

Without the service, the server writes its log in the terminal and stops with Ctrl+C; to keep it running after you close the terminal, start it inside tmux or screen.
