Kicks and bans
Your server applies two moderation actions. NodeWorld's central services check who may do them; your server carries them out.
| Action | Who | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Kick | the owner of the instance | the player is sent home and may come back |
| Ban | the owner of the server and its co-owners | the player is sent home and can never come back to this server |
Kick
The player who started an instance owns it and can kick anyone else out of it, from the game. The kicked player goes back to their home world at once and is told the owner of the instance sent them home. They can join the instance again.
Ban
You and your co-owners ban a player from the game or from your server's page on the website. A ban is for good: the player is sent home, and NodeWorld refuses them on this server from then on (they see You are banned from this server.). Only a ban removed on the website lets them back.
- Banned in the game: your server asks NodeWorld to record the ban, then sends the player home right away.
- Banned on the website: your server reads the list of banned players with each heartbeat to NodeWorld, every 30 seconds, and sends home those who are on it.
The owner and the co-owners cannot be banned.
On the website, Banned players on your server's page lists every ban, with who banned and the reason. To ban, type the player's username and, if you want, a Reason (optional), choose Ban and confirm. Unban lifts a ban: the player can come back at once.
Co-owners
On your server's page on the website (My servers, then your server), Co-owners lists them: type a username and choose Add, or Remove a co-owner. A co-owner can do everything you can, except delete the server, see its token and manage the co-owners. They find the server in their own My servers, marked Co-owner, without Rotate token and Delete server.
Blocks between players
When a player blocks another one, your server stops relaying the voice, the avatar and the moves between the two of them, both ways, while they stay in the same instance. You have nothing to set: the server checks each block with NodeWorld.
