Friends, profiles and messages on the website

Your friends and your conversations are the same on the website and in the game: what you do on one shows on the other at once.

Friends

Friends, in the side bar of app.nodeworldvr.com, lists:

  • Requests: the friend requests you received, each with Accept or Decline;
  • your friends, in In a world, Online and Offline (choose Offline to fold or unfold it), with where each one is. Search friends filters them by name;
  • Sent: the requests you sent and that wait for an answer, each with Cancel.

Next to a friend:

  • Ask for an invite, when they are in an instance you cannot join directly: its owner gets your request;
  • Invite, when you are in the game and they are online elsewhere: the invite reaches them in the game, valid for 5 minutes;
  • the message button opens your conversation;
  • the ... button has Remove friend, after Remove friend?.

On a phone, Ask for an invite and Invite are in the ... button.

Add a friend

Choose Add friend, type their Username, then Send request. If they had already sent you a request, you are friends at once: You and ExampleUser are now friends.

MessageWhat it means
Nobody has this username. Check the spelling.No player has this name.
You are already friends.Nothing to do.
You already sent a request to this person.It waits in Sent.
That is your own username.Type the other player's name.
Too many requests for now. Try again in a few minutes.Wait a few minutes.

A player's profile

Choose a player, anywhere on the website, to open their profile: their picture, their name, their status, whether they are online and where (for a friend who shows it), Do not disturb when it is on, Member since, their published Avatars and their Servers. Choose an avatar to open it, a server to open its page.

What you can do there:

  • with a friend: Message, Open in NodeWorld when they are in an instance (see Open in NodeWorld), Ask for an invite or Invite;
  • with another player: Add friend, or Request sent and Cancel, or Accept and Decline when they asked you;
  • the More button (the three dots): Remove friend for a friend, Block and Report (see Blocks, kicks and bans).

When the player limited their profile to friends, the page only shows their name, their picture and This profile is visible to friends only. The profile of a player you blocked says Blocked, with Unblock. Your own profile has a button to your Settings; View my profile, in Settings, opens it as others see it.

Messages

Messages, in the side bar, opens your conversations in a window over the page, with Chats and Requests. The pencil button (New message) opens your friends: choose one to write to them. The message button of a friend or of a profile does the same.

A conversation opens in a window at the bottom of the page; several can be open side by side. Minimize turns one into its round picture, above the others; Close closes it. In a conversation:

  • type your message, then Send; three moving dots show while the other player writes;
  • Add an image, or paste an image in the field, to send an image (see Images);
  • the player's name at the top opens their profile;
  • the More button: Delete chat and Report (the player, with the conversation).

A message from a player who is not your friend arrives in Requests: ExampleUser wants to send you messages., with Accept and Decline. When you write first to a player who is not your friend, the conversation says ExampleUser has not accepted your messages yet. You can keep writing. A message that could not leave says Not sent. Retry: choose it to send it again.

What is kept and what Delete chat erases is on the Messages page.
